Verandah is a master planned community spread out over 1400 acres along the Orange River just east of Ft. Myers. This community was designed to create a feeling of welcoming, community, and belonging, and has something for everyone – no matter your lifestyle.
Once completed, this community will have 1,700 homes developed by D.R. Horton, Neal Communities, Kolter Homes, Wyman Stokes, and more. Verandah’s models include custom and traditional single-family homes, villas, and coach homes in its 22 neighborhoods. Coach homes range from 1,488 to 2,040 square feet. Villa-style homes range from 1,641 to 2,206 square feet. Both the villas and coach homes are maintenance-free. Single-family homes range from 1,831 to 5,668 square feet in size.
Verandah residents pay an annual fee that covers streets and landscaping maintenance, cable, high-speed Internet, social activities, boathouse access, and maintenance of the biking and walking trails.
AMENITIES
Verandah’s River Village is the center of all community events; here, there is a clubhouse, Golf House, and River House. Inside the clubhouse, residents have access to a fitness center, a group fitness studio, exercise room, locker rooms, a junior Olympic-sized outdoor pool, five-lighted Hat-Tru tennis courts and a tennis pro shop. People have access to personal trainers and tennis coaches. There is also a spa that offers services like massages and facials. The community also has a gated dog park.
There are two 18-hole championship golf courses in Verandah, which makes it a great community for a golf lover.
The community also has a River House Restaurant and River House Lounge were residents can enjoy a bite to eat or a drink or two along the Orange River without having to leave their community. The River House also has a place where people can launch their canoes and kayaks. This spot is known to be a great place to host banquets, weddings, parties, and other special occasions and events.
The community has a activities director that is in charge of the social calendar; this person plans community events and outside excursions. Clubs, outings, and events in this community include: Texas hold ‘em, bridge, beading club, photography, art club, Mah Jongg, Bible study group, technology class, horseback riding, kayaking, spring training games, seminars, pub crawls, Broadway shows and more.
LOCATION
Verandah is located just a few minutes east of I-75 and is 10 minute from downtown Fort Myers. Since its surrounded by oak trees and the Orange River, the community is very peaceful and picturesque. The community is a close drive to the Lee County Civic Center, the Southwest Florida International Airport, Florida Gulf Coast University, several beaches, and many businesses, including the Shops of Verandah, which is adjacent to the community.
